I have many appointments that have a start time during the day and end at midnight (Shift Work!). These appointments show as Multi Day - appointments without a start or end time on DeskTask.

Is there any way to show the start and end time for these appointments as they are not really all day events?

I tested your Scenario, and DesTask works as expected. If an item starts in a day at 4:00 pm and end at 00:00 hours of the next day it's considered a multi day event.

Outlook Today also does this.

Because, even if for you they are not multi-day events, they are for a computer application.

I would suggest, if you want the times to be displayed, to change the Item end time to the same day at 23:59.
It is the only workaround I can think of.
