This is a very usefull program.

Nevertheless, my ground color became black and was no longer consistent with my desktop color since version 0.41(not so sure).

Could someone tell me how to change back the default setting?

DeskTask is designed to have it's background colour transparent.

It could be a issue with your graphic adapter drivers.
I know there have been some issues with ATI
what is your graphic adapter?

Yeah I had this problem when using the optional ATi HYDRAVISION desktop enhancement drivers. They are meant for multi-monitor setups, making windows on top and transparent, but haven't been updated for a while. If people keep having this problem perhaps you could e-mail ATi, André?

I find a tentative solution to this problem.
Just change color depth from 16 bit to 32 bit,
then everything works fine.

And yes, I do use ATI m6 chip in my laptop.
I am not sure if anyone using other chips would have the same
problem when color depth is 16bit.

Nice you found a workaround. I'm afraid for the time being it's the only solution for ATI Card users with problems regarding the transparency.

Yes, that is an option, but I've seen more complains on other forums for the ATi HYDRAVISION drivers and transparency, they should be well aware of the problems.

I also hav this problem with 0.57 and SiS 650 standard graphics notebook.
I saw it when returning from a game that changed the color depth and resolution. bye click right-->Refresh it became transparent again... so no problem!
