 Startup delay opening document "Analyzing Text"

Starting a few days ago, I now see a message when opening a document in Twistpad.
In the lower-left corner it says "Analyzing Text 0%".
It can take 4 or 5 seconds before the document is displayed and ready to edit.
I never encountered this before last week (~January 29, 2025).
(The message may have been there before, bit it started so quickly I probably didn't notice.)
Is there a preference/setting I need to change to prevent this delay?

Twistpad Professional version 3.14 (64-bit)
Windows 10 (Version 22H2, OS Build 19045.5371, 64-bit Edition)

I uninstalled (via Settings) Twistpad and then re-installed it.
It now starts up as it did before -- so quickly that the "Analyzing Text" message appears for only a fraction of a second.
There have been a number of Windows updates in the last week.
Could this have caused this issue?
No matter what the reason, it's working properly now.

I'm sorry for this issue, and I'm glad you've been able to solve it with a re-install.

Most likely some file issue, if it happens again let me know.

I changed a setting in Preferences and the file open delay is occurring again.
The status bar text says "Analyzing Text...0%" and it takes anywhere from 2 to 5 seconds before I can edit.

And, perhaps related, is the very long delay in changing a Preference setting ...
(While trying to figure out what's going on, I tried changing settings.)

I changed one setting (any one produced the same result) ... and
It took 30 seconds before the dialog closed!

This is very frustrating and baffling.

Is Twistpad "analyzing text" or is it something in my Windows?

Hi,

Sorry about this, after some tests, particularly with your tip of the slow settings I found that this seems related to the Windows Real Time Protection feature and the way Twistpad saves its settings, but it seems to only happens sometimes.

I was able to, apparently, fix this issue. Just released Twistpad 3.15 beta 1 (in the registered user's area) can you give it a go? Just unzip the folder and try to change settings, opening files, etc, and let me know how it went.

I added an Exclusion to
C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\Carthago\Twistpad
and now Twistpad opens files and saves setting without delays.

(This is for the User "Owner" so use the appropriate account for your installation.)
